Licence

How the licence works

  1. 01 — purchase

    Pay on the website

    Payment goes through Polar, which issues the invoice and handles VAT for your country.

  2. 02 — open

    Open in Joppa

    After payment, a button reopens the app, which activates itself. The key also arrives by email.

  3. 03 — machines

    Switch machines

    In the app, “Sign in” opens this website and fetches your licence. Manage your machines from your account.

Who takes the payment?
Polar, our official reseller (merchant of record). It calculates and remits VAT, and sends you a compliant invoice.
On how many machines can I activate my licence?
3 machines, on macOS as well as Linux. With Team, one seat is one machine. You can free one up from your account at any time.
How does Team work?
You take at least 3 seats. From the customer portal, you assign each seat by email; the member receives their own license key and activates Joppa with their email or the key. You can revoke a seat to give it to someone else, or add seats during the year.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
Joppa goes back to the Free version. Nothing is deleted: your projects and domains keep running. The services beyond the Free version (Redis, Typesense, a second PostgreSQL…) are stopped, but their data stays: you can export their databases, and they start again if you come back to Pro. Analytics no longer show their charts, the request inspector closes and public links no longer open.
How long does the launch price last?
It's reserved for early customers. If you subscribe at the launch price, you keep it for as long as your subscription stays active.
Does Joppa work offline?
Yes. The app checks the licence from time to time and keeps working without a network between checks.
Can I get a refund?
Joppa Pro and Team start with a 14-day free trial: cancel from your account before it ends and you pay nothing. After that, payments are not refunded: not the first year, not renewals, not seats added during the year. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep Pro until the end of the paid period. A duplicate charge or a billing error is of course refunded: just write to us.
